Evelyn Carver arrives carrying her own collapse. Once a respected investigative journalist, now wrecked by addiction, guilt, and the death of her sister Lily, she comes to Hollow's End looking for a story and finds a town that already knows her name. The road loops. The motel listens. A dead girl with scarred hands leaves notes at her door. The sheriff smiles too easily. Beneath it all, the mountain hums with an appetite older than the map.

As Evelyn digs deeper, she uncovers the schoolhouse where children were taught to thank the dark, the church where the pact was dressed in holy language, and the mine tunnels that lead toward the Relic, the black anchor at the center of the town's bargain. What she finds there is worse than a local ghost story. Hollow's End is not only haunted. It is organized around hunger.
