Every story begins with something that looks stable.
A person, a family, a town, a system, a bargain, a memory, a belief, a place. Then pressure enters. The rules change. The cost becomes visible. The character reaches the point where something has to break.
That shape holds across the shelf, from folkloric and gothic horror to crime and espionage thrillers, from speculative cities that keep time like a religion to a coastal town deciding which future to defend.
