About the book
The story
The world ended once, not with fire, but with silence. After the Shattering, continents float above a cloud sea and the substance that once forged gods, Aetherion, is treated like heresy, contraband, and apocalypse waiting to happen.
Kael Draven is an ash-city apprentice in Calderreach, raised on hunger and hard rules. The night his master dies, Kael finds a forbidden relic, The Codex of Aetherion, and awakens something buried under the forge. The light answers his blood. It also answers what he tries hardest to deny: rage, ambition, and the refusal to stay small.
Kael's first forging is Vyris, a living weapon shaped from fire and will. His second is Torvax, a granite shield built to hold what fire breaks, and their rivalry forces Kael to learn the central truth of Godsmith craft: every god is a mirror, and every mirror demands a price.
Word spreads. The Iron Concordat closes in with "order" that looks a lot like chains. The Veilborn whisper in runes and bargains, offering mastery that feels like a trap.
As Calderreach becomes a battlefield of factions and forged gods, Kael faces a choice that will define the new age: forge power into protection, or become the kind of monster the world was silenced to escape.
