Some towns do not disappear because they are abandoned. Some disappear because they are answered.

When Saint Atlas follows a distress signal to Bright Hollow, he finds a town gathered around an impossible promise: no one should have to suffer alone. The sick, the grieving, the broken, and the forgotten have all been touched by a red signal moving beneath the church, binding their pain into something larger than any one person can carry.

At first, it looks like mercy.

Then the church opens.

Thirty miles away, Vera Cross tracks the same signal from a Morrow Biotech containment failure in Newark. Subject 12-A is not escaping at random. It is answering the call. As Vera follows the signal into Bright Hollow, Atlas is forced to face the truth beneath the miracle: some forms of healing do not save people. They claim them.
