Instead he uncovered archives that still change in real time, names that fade from payrolls and case files, and a system that does not simply kill witnesses. It edits them out of the world. Behind the paper trail waits a machinery of erasure, the Vanish Protocol, the faceless Cleaners, and a lower architecture where records go to die.

As Reed and Claire are dragged toward Harbor Nine's buried vaults, The Vanish Protocol becomes more than a noir mystery. It becomes a conspiracy horror about institutional disappearance, unstable reality, and the terror of learning that a person can be removed so thoroughly the city itself stops agreeing they were ever here.
