About the book

The story

He woke up with a gun in his hand, blood on his sleeves, and a name he did not recognize.

Alec Kessler was built for black operations, then erased. Now he is running through Europe on instinct alone, hunted by the same machine that trained him.

The reason is Directive Seven, a classified protocol tied to the Phantom Program, a shadow network that does not recruit agents, it manufactures them. When Kessler starts remembering what he was used for, he becomes a liability the system cannot tolerate. A fixer who never misses, a handler who knows his tells, and a syndicate that profits from silence all converge on one outcome: close the file.

With only fragments, a contact who may be bait, and a trail of dead drops leading to the people who wrote his life, Kessler has one chance to survive: turn the Directive against its authors. Every answer is a trap. Every memory is a weapon. If he gets the truth, he will not be allowed to keep it.

The Shadow Directive is a fast, paranoid espionage thriller about manufactured identity, psychological warfare, and the cost of learning what you were designed to do.
