The Hollow Season

In Bell Hollow, the annual Hollow Season Festival sells hayrides, lanterns, cider, and the safe version of fear. But the town's favorite attraction, the corn maze, is built over an older lie. In 1998, eleven-year-old Cal Wren vanished the night the maze burned, and Bell Hollow turned panic into a public story, a memorial stone, and a grief ritual neat enough to bury the truth.

Now Rowan Vale is back. Her father is dead, the family house is hers, and someone has left a burned child's toy on her porch with a note that says: ASK HIM WHERE THEY TOOK THE BOY. As Rowan digs through old festival maps, storage-unit files, taped interviews, and a town that has spent decades practicing selective memory, she discovers Bell Hollow did not survive on silence alone.
