Detroit is the stage. Someone is staging ritual murders that copy the first killing with impossible precision. A stone. An eastward orientation. Symbols carved into bark and concrete that whisper binding and transference. The first victim is a graduate student in myth studies. The pattern is not cosplay, it is knowledge.

Cain walks the city like a smudge the mind cannot hold. His curse keeps him unremembered and alive, fed by the guilt of killers who never quite understand why their shoulders feel lighter afterward. For centuries he has drifted from crime scene to crime scene, nudging outcomes, never staying long enough to matter.

Two shocks break his routine.

A Watcher descends with cold intent and a single mandate: unmake the anomaly that slipped past judgment in Eden. At the same time, Detective Maya Reyes looks Cain in the eye, remembers him, and does not look away. Her grandmother's journals spoke of old marks and Nephilim blood. That sight lets her track the blur in her case files back to a face the city refuses to keep.

Then the killer leaves a message on a warehouse wall: WE SEE YOU.

The symbols escalate. Abandoned factories, weed-choked parks, dark riverfront tunnels, each new scene pushes toward one goal: to harness the Mark that turned a farmer into the First Wanderer. Reyes wants a profile and an arrest. The Watchers want a convergence erased. Cain wants to disappear again, until he realizes the scholar behind the murders is willing to reenact the first sin to steal its power.

Forced into an unwanted alliance, Cain and Reyes hunt a mind that treats Genesis like a manual and Detroit like a sandbox. Every step peels back a rule in the curse that has shaped Cain's existence. Every body dropped inside a chalked circle brings the convergence closer.
